Maryland State Home Inspector Regulations

Licensing law will become effective January 1st, 2008.  Electronic applications for home inspectors should be available on line from the Commission of Real Estate Appraisers and Home Inspectors in June of 2007.

Qualifications to Become a Licensed Maryland Home Inspector as of 10/01/2008

a) At least 72 hours class room instruction approved by the Commission

b) A high school diploma or equivalent

c) Pass the National Home Inspector Examination

d) Carry general liability insurance of no less then $50,000.00
