Wisconsin State Home Inspector Regulations

Exemptions: Certain government employees are exempt from this legislation as well as contractors who are inspecting their own work but do not refer to themselves as a Registered Wisconsin Home Inspector.

Qualifications for Becoming a Registered Home Inspector

Procedure
a) Complete and submit a registration form with the state

Testing
a) Take the National Home Inspector Examination and a 2-part state exam
on the Wisconsin Statutes and the Wisconsin Administrative rules that relate to home inspections

Education
a) 40 hours of continuing education every 2 years
