The Success Story of AHIT Graduate Joe Mazza
Joe’s career started in construction, where he worked for 20 years in New York City. For 20 years he spent a good chunk of his time commuting in and out of New York City. Overtime, commuting and working long hours caught up to him, and burnout set in. He couldn’t spend time with his family, and he knew he needed a change deep down.
“What sparked me to make a career change? That’s very simple. I worked in the city for 20 years in construction. Then I’d come home and work on my own side work, I was always hustling, working around the clock just to make ends meet. It was killing my body; I was missing my daughter’s events and I never wanted to do something like that. I needed a change, and that’s when I found AHIT.”
He knew he needed to change careers, he knew he wanted to help people, so he went online and researched the best home inspection training in the country. Joe wanted to find the best, to be the best. He found AHIT, the leaders in home inspection training, and called the next day to start this new journey.

Joe’s Wife & Family Matter Most
Joe Mazza was born and raised in Westchester County, New York, today he lives in White Plains with his wife and daughter. Joe Mazza’s wife, Sonia Mazza, is a New York City School Teacher. They’ve been married for 14 years and have a daughter Gia, who is featured in Home Inspector Joe often, because Joe makes it a priority to showcase what is important in his life on the show.
“Being a home inspector gives you flexibility and scheduling. If I want to work, I work. If I don’t want to work, I don’t work. The best part about it is that if my daughter has a soccer game, or she has a concert, I get to go to it. I just book an inspection around it, it’s that simple! Becoming a home inspector gave me that family time. I drop my daughter off at school every day, I can pick her up after school every day. I get to see every single event that she has, I never miss a family event, it’s what I want, what works for me.”
Joe was able to accomplish all of this after establishing a solid foundation through AHIT’s home inspector training. He credits his success as a home inspector because of AHIT’s industry-leading training, expert instructors, and additional certification like radon testing and mold inspection.
